Dam: Madame Butterfly (Holsteiner)
Patou placed in the top three at the Sydney CDI young horse classes in 2005 and 2006. She went on to have the third hightest score at Dressage with the Stars, scoring 9 out of 10 for trot by german judge Harry Bolt. Unfortunately due to a course error whe was put down to 5th place, a jinx that followed her again as a 6yo at DWTS.
With her stable mate Gia, Patou recieved the 2nd highest score in the Australian ACE tour 2006, 77.25% for movement and conformation, out of 60 mares assesst by Gerhardt Thele from Germany.
Patou has been described in magazine articles as "the movement machine, a dynamic bay mare" and "what an amazing mover" (Equestrian life magazine) Also in the 2005 Cyberhorse report of Dressage with the Stars, "Patou, a petie and nicely put toether mare, who I saw at the recent FEI dressage forum in Sydney. German young horse judge Jan Bemmerlmans complimented Carolyn Henley on her "eye for a horse" and everyone agreed that Patou was the one to watch".

Dam: 'Kassiber' mare
Gia won at the Australian National Dressage Championships in 2006, and won at the NSW State Championships in 2005 and 2006. She constantly placed in the top three in Young Horse classed at the Sydney CDI and Dressage with the Stars.
German young horse judge Jan Bemmelmans was of the opinion that Gia was "an exceptional type" and complimented Carolyn on her "eye for a horse" Gia with her stablemate Patou, was awarded the secound highest score, 77.25% for movement and conformation, out of 60 mares assessed in the 2006 ACE Tour by the highly esteemed Gerhardt Thele from Germany.
Gia was to be my competition horse, but due to an unfortunate injury in the paddock she is now a broodmare. |
